The Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) provides technical
and financial assistance to landowners to address soil, water, and
related natural resource concerns on their lands. EQIP provides assistance
to landowners in complying with Federal, State, local and tribal environmental
laws and encourages environmental enhancement. The purposes of EQIP
are achieved through the implementation of a conservation plan and
an EQIP contract that may include structural, vegetative and land management
practices on eligible land. Eligible practices for forest landowners
include: fixing fish barriers or installing stream crossings, streambank
revegetation, livestock fencing, forest stand improvement, road decommissioning,
reforestation, and others. Check with your local NRCS office for local
priorities. For more info., contact your local NRCS office: http://www.wa.nrcs.usda.gov/
